Fabretti v. Singh et al., 2012 Vancouver Registry.
Ms. Fabretti was 43 years old and suffered soft tissue injuries, chronic pain, and psychological trauma arising from a catastrophic accident on the Pattullo Bridge.
ICBC denied that Ms. Fabretti suffered significant injuries in the motor vehicle accident and further denied that she experienced any wage loss because her income was greatly reduced in the years before the accident while she raised her children. ICBC ignored the overwhelming evidence that Ms. Fabretti was dynamic and outgoing before the accident and her injuries impacted every aspect of her functioning.
ICBC offered $300,000 on the eve of trial. The Jury awarded $1,500,000 and this included $850,000 for future wage loss and approximately $200,000 for future cost of care.
This is one of the largest verdicts for soft tissue injuries in British Columbia.
