Trial Lawyer

Jillian (Jill) Gamez is the Managing Lawyer of KazLaw Injury Lawyers’ Edmonton office, which she helped open in 2025 after joining the firm in 2024 to work alongside senior personal injury lawyer and trailblazer Sandy Kovacs. She brings over 12 years of legal experience representing plaintiffs in complex personal injury and civil litigation matters.

Prior to joining KazLaw, Jill practiced at a leading Edmonton-based personal injury firm, where she developed a strong reputation for delivering results with compassion and clarity. Her practice is focused on advocating for individuals who have experienced serious and life-altering injuries, including:

  • Survivors of recent and historical sexual abuse
  • Clients with chronic pain
  • Orthopedic injuries
  • Traumatic brain injuries
  • Psychological trauma
  • Fatal injury and wrongful death claims


In addition to litigation, Jill also maintains a selective solicitor-side practice in wills and estates, real estate, and adult guardianship and trusteeship matters.

Jill is a past recipient of the LEAF Edmonton Recognition Award from the Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund in recognition of her commitment to gender equality and the arts. She continues to be involved in Edmonton’s theatre community, performing in the Edmonton International Fringe Festival with the Novus Actors, and serving on the organizing committee of Players de Novo, an annual fundraiser featuring members of the legal community. She is also an Honorary Board Member with Workshop West Playwrights’ Theatre, an organization dedicated to developing and showcasing new Canadian plays.

A proud Edmontonian, Jill combines legal excellence with deep community roots. She leads KazLaw’s Edmonton office with a client-focused, trauma-informed approach, offering trusted guidance and skilled advocacy to every client she serves.
